Paul Ortiz: What the U.S. (and world) owe to Haiti

UF Center for Latin American Studies' affiliate faculty and History faculty member Dr. Paul Ortiz, published an article in the Gainesville Sun. 

The article tackles President Donald Trump's comment regarding Haitian immigrants to the United States and highlights historical events that show how Haiti has influenced various aspects of American history, such as the African American civil rights movement.
