BA in Liberal Arts at Universidad San Francisco de Quito, with a concentration in Humanities, and minors in Creative Writing and Literature

Interests

As a Liberal Arts graduate and educator in alternative education institutions, I have cultivated multiple and diverse interests, mainly related to pedagogy, learning sciences, literature, the humanities, and sports. I’m drawn to interdisciplinary projects and am currently interested in the intersections between the science of reading, children’s and adolescent literature, and pedagogy; particularly how these fields correlate and what role they play in high-performance sports environments combined with disadvantaged socioeconomic contexts, especially in Latin America.

Experience

I have an academic and professional background in Humanities and Education. In 2019, I earned a bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts, specializing in Humanities with minors in Creative Writing and Literature. During my final years of college, I participated in two main research projects: I collaborated on systematizing a critical bibliography that contributed to the 2018 publication of Obra poética (Complete Poetic Works) by Jorge Carrera Andrade, one of Ecuador’s most renowned and influential poets, and I also contributed to a research project that resulted in my first publication on children's literature, analyzing the thematic axes in the work of prolific Ecuadorian author Edna Iturralde. Later, I joined the Teach for All program Enseña Ecuador, where I spent two years as a transformational teacher working in an underserved community. Over the last four years, I taught Humanities at the youth academy of the soccer club Independiente del Valle, where I integrated literature, communication, and social sciences with educational practices and holistic support for young players from some of the most challenging areas of the country.
