Education

Bachelor’s degree in Juridical Sciences, with additional studies in Political Communication and Education.

Interests

My principal interest is in understanding how language shapes worldviews, identities, and power relations. I aim to identify the forces that frame both political and cultural discourse, shaping narratives that enable social, economic, and cultural domination. I seek to examine these dynamics through the cognitive metaphors that sustain and legitimize such discourses.

Beyond pursuing a specific research agenda, I see this master’s program as an opportunity to strengthen my academic skills and grow through collaborative learning. I enter this program with no intellectual dogmas, fully open to learning from others, listening attentively, and evolving as a thinker and researcher.

Experience

I was born in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, and have called Gainesville, Florida, home since 2010. I have cared about justice and dignity since I was young, and that commitment has stayed with me. I volunteered with human rights efforts, contributing to initiatives that defend and promote fundamental rights. After earning my law degree, I worked in the financial sector for several years. However, my passion for education and social change led me to teach Social Sciences in public high schools attended by students from low-income backgrounds, as well as law-related courses at two universities.

In 2005, I deepened my civic engagement by entering the political sphere. From 2006 to 2009, I served as an advisor to a political party and the government of the Department of Santa Cruz. During that time, I was part of the team that advised, organized, and communicated the governor’s political vision and served on the department’s crisis response team. I am especially proud to have contributed to that public administration, under which vital social policies were implemented, particularly those supporting education and expanding access to essential public services such as water, electricity, and transportation infrastructure for underserved communities.

I am currently a GED instructor in Spanish at Santa Fe College.
