Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology with a minor in Latin American Studies
Archaeology, Ceramics, Art History, Language learning, Indigenous studies, Gender and Sexuality.
My interest in Latin American Studies began through ceramic art courses, in which I learned about historical practices and creation methods used across the world. As an Archaeology major, I chose to focus on ceramic artifacts from the region, as the art styles and what they represented intrigued me. Currently, I learn about Latin American communities through material remains, focusing on the lifestyles of the past and how change occurs over time. As a MALAS student, I wish to shift my focus towards modern social dynamics, involving present inequities, cross-cultural interactions and customs.
