Background

A professional facilitator, FL supreme court-certified mediator and Faculty Fellow of the Florida Climate Institute, Mr. Dain’s focus is on helping graduate students and natural resource management professionals develop the skills, concepts, and approach required to work effectively with diverse stakeholders in diverse settings. Dain began his Latin American career as a Peace Corps volunteer in Paraguay and after completing graduate work in applied anthropology, served as Field Coordinator for the PESACRE project (Agroforestry Development Program for Small Producers in Acre) in the western Brazilian Amazon. Since joining TCD in 2000, he has focused on the interplay between conflict management, facilitation, mediation, and Natural Resource Management. Dain also directs the Florida Natural Resources Leadership Institute through an appointment in the Schoool of Forest Resources and Conservation (IFAS), develops graduate student learning and support activities for the Center for Latin American Studies, and spends most summers working with UF partner organizations in Latin America.
