Alvaro Queiroz appointed UF Engineering Global Innovation Network Ambassador to Brazil

Mr. Alvaro Queiroz has been appointed as the first University of Florida College of Engineering Global Innovation Network Ambassador to Brazil.  He resides in Campinas and will travel across the State of São Paulo in helping to build collaborations between UF’s College of Engineering and universities and other institutions.

Alvaro is a UF alumnus of the Brasil Scientific Mobility Program, formerly known as the Science Without Borders Program.  Alvaro was heavily engaged in 2013 in the UF Engineering Innovation Institute., and is one a very select number of students in the program’s history to take all four Institute courses in Engineering Innovation, Engineering Leadership, Engineering Entrepreneurship, and Engineering Ethics and Communications.  Alvaro worked closely with Mr. Erik Sander, Director of UF’s Engineering Innovation Institute, to help formalize collaborative research, education, and innovation agreements between the University of Florida and various educational entities in the State of São Paulo, including Universidad de São Paulo and Centro Paula Souza.
