Jacaré Brazil – One Night Only!
Friday, April 11, 2014
10:00 P.M.

Hippodrome State Theater – Downtown Gainesville

Specializing in the musical traditions of Latin America’s largest nation, UF’s Jacaré Brazil represents the most diverse performance ensemble of its kind within a university performing arts program and comprises four complementary ensemble sections: percussion, vocal, guitar, and instrumental choro. Each semester, specific repertoires combine these sections into unique ensemble groupings featuring invited guest artists of faculty and students (undergraduate and graduate) from within the School of Music and from other units on campus and the wider music community. Guest artists from international arenas frequently perform with the group, fostering a rich and diverse environment of artistic and cultural collaboration. Led by UF School of Music faculty Welson Tremura and Larry Crook, and visiting Professor Ulisses Rocha, Jacaré Brazil is a vibrant part of the World Music and Graduate Program in Ethnomusicology at UF, supported through the School of Music and Center for World Arts in the College of Fine Arts, the Center for Latin American Studies, and UF Student Government.

Tickets will be available at the door for $7, Cash only.

Join us in the Hippodrome Basement for drinks, dancing and live music.
