Session Overview:

This session will spotlight two projects emphasizing the value of cross-border collaboration and regional partnerships. Prof Dr. Luis Mejia-Puig, Assistant Professor at the Department of Interior Design, will present on the Virtual Exchange program with Colombia, demonstrating this initiative's collaborative flexibility and institutional connectivity. This approach highlights the transformative potential of virtual exchanges in uniting students and faculty across borders to enrich educational experiences.

In parallel, Prof Dr. Karla Saldaña Ochoa, Assistant Professor at the School of Architecture, will discuss the "Resilience in the Built Environment" symposium series in Ecuador and USA, an initiative in its third year. This project reflects the continued impact of international collaboration in fostering resilience-focused dialogue, planning, and action within North, Central, and South American contexts. With a particular focus on technology, in particular Artificial Intelligence and Data-driven applications.
