Intercultural Education: Lessons from La Universidad Intercultural Maya de Quintana Roo
March 30, 2023 | 3:00 - 4:30 pm
Online, via Zoom
Biocultural Conservation is premised on collaborative exchange of knowledge among plural worldviews and perspectives. The Universidad Intercultural Maya de Quintana Roo (UIMQRoo), Mexico has been a leader in Intercultural Education that combines Indigenous language, culture, ways of thinking and cosmovision with the western scientific method.
This webinar will present both the conceptual underpinning and practical experience of UIMQRoo in carrying out Intercultural Education. Discussants from the GIA network will comment on the applicability of this approach to ongoing efforts to promote Intercultural Education in Amazon countries.
