Specializing in the musical traditions of Latin America's largest nation, UF’s Jacaré Brazil represents the most diverse performance ensemble of its kind within a university performing arts program and comprises four complementary ensemble sections: percussion, vocal, guitar, and instrumental choro. This semester we are the closing act for CAME’s
First Conference: African Entrepreneurship, the Arts, and Beyond. Each semester, specific repertoires combine these sections into unique ensemble groupings featuring invited guest artists of faculty and students (undergraduate and graduate) from within the School of Music and from other units on campus and the wider music community. Guest artists from international arenas frequently perform with the group, fostering a rich and diverse environment of artistic and
cultural collaboration. A vibrant part of the World Music and Graduate Program in Ethnomusicology at UF, Jacaré Brazil is supported through the School of Music, the Center for Latin American Studies, and the Center for Arts Migration and Entrepreneurship in the College of the Arts.
