Presentation of preliminary results of GIA’s comparative study on the effectiveness of social-environmental strategies in 4 specific cases in Colombia, Bolivia, Brazil and Peru. Critical insights about the position of the local communities, the strategies that were implemented  and their effectiveness, the influence of the historical context and power dynamics. An in-depth discussion will explore what worked, what didn’t work, how, why and what are the main challenges and lessons learned.
