The Jazz Age was a cultural phenomenon that originated in the US but soon made its way across the world. This year's event will focus on the multicultural influences of Brazilian music and its interaction with jazz, among other topics. The classes and training will be delivered in a workshop format with a concluding concert that will feature UF students, guest artists, and faculty. We will also hold a "Conversation with the Neighborhood" during the four-day event. The event also portrays how jazz influenced Bossa Nova or Brazilian Jazz and how this genre has transformed Brazilian and US music. "Ella Jazz Across Cultures" will provide a new exposure to the many facets of Brazilian Jazz, Samba, and Bossa Nova through a variety of training, workshops, concert, and exposure to diversity and music cross-culturally.”
