Join us for a lecture with Carlos Meléndez (Universidad Diego Portales, Chile) on the rise of Pedro Castillo, “the first poor president of Peru,” who was narrowly elected in a runoff vote in the summer of 2021. Dr. Meléndez is a political scientist and postdoctoral researcher at the Centro de Estudios de Conflicto y Cohesión Social (COES). His publications include “El Mal Menor: Vínculos políticos en el Perú posterior al colapso del sistema de partidos” (2019) and “El Informe Chinochet: Historia Secreta de Alberto Fujimori en Chile” (Aguilar, 2018).

University Ave. Parking restrictions are lifted after 5:00 pm.
