Course description

What does it take to produce an enjoyable book or article? In this workshop course, we are going to take a look at some of the most effective narrative and rhetorical techniques used in creative writing... and academic writing! If you are going to write an article, a dissertation, or you are opting for a capstone project, you will want your advisors—and the rest of your audience—to actually enjoy reading your ideas: if they enjoy the reading, they will be happy; if they are happy, is easier to convince them.

Open to all graduate and undergraduate students writing in English, Spanish, Espanglish, and Portuguese, this course and workshop is focus on in-class writing exercises alongside some “theoretical” readings (short stories, academic and creative essays, et cetera) and online conversations with outstanding Latin American writers.
