The Minerva Research Initiative grants support research in social and behavioral science.

Core faculty Rebecca Hanson (Sociology, Criminology, and Law) is part of a team awarded a Minerva Research Initative grant by the U.S. Department of Defense. The initiative supports university research in social and behavioral science to better understand political situations in key regions around the world.
Together with four co-investigators in the U.S. and Colombia, Dr. Hanson will carry out research on policing and community stabilization. The project is titled, "Post-Conflict Security Structures and Citizen Buy-In," and will be based out of UC Berkeley's Center for Effective Global Action.
