Center faculty will advance her work on informal women workers in 20th century Brazil

Center faculty Meg Weeks has been named a 2026-2027 Member of The School of Historical Studies at the Institute of Advanced Study (IAS). During her time at IAS, she will finalize her book project From the House to the Street, which explores informal women workers during Brazil's democratic transition. She will also draft two additional articles about transnational feminism across the Americas and experimental regulations on red light districts in mid-20th century Rio de Janeiro.
Congratulations to Dr. Weeks for this accomplishment! Because the membership will take place at IAS, Dr. Weeks will be on leave from UF for the 2026-2027 academic year.
