Michael is a graduate of Florida State University where he studied Instrumental Music Education. After graduating from FSU, he became the Director of Bands as well as a music history teacher, student advisor, and co-sponsor of the Interact club at St. Johns Country Day School in Orange Park, Florida. After four years of teaching music, he made the bold decision to live and work abroad. He began by studying Spanish in Buenos Aires. After a semester living in Argentina, Michael was afforded the opportunity to volunteer in Colombia by teaching English. Alongside his Colombian colleagues, Michael spent the next year and a half teaching English in the public school system in the city of Armenia. Michael is beyond excited to be joining the Center for Latin American Studies community at the University of Florida!
