Experience

Marcela developed a thesis in Brazil based in a municipal initiative in Rio de Janeiro known as ”Novas Alternativas”. The idea behind that program was the utilization of heritage empty building to partially address the lack of local affordable housing. In her professional life, she worked for seven years as a project manager in the revitalization of some historic buildings in Rio de Janeiro and Parana.

Marcela is particularly attracted to the UF Center of Latin American Studies in order to learn more about the dynamics of American cities and to share her experiences about Brazilian architecture.
