Sustainable public policies, good environmental governance, Amazon preservation and climate change.

After obtaining my Bachelor’s degree in Law, in 1995, I moved to Mato Grosso and became a Public Prosecutor at the Public Ministry of the State of Mato Grosso, Brazil.  I have been working since then in defense of the environment. Mato Grosso is a state in the Amazon Region and there is much work to be done in order to preserve and conserve its biodiversity. My professional activity aims to guarantee an efficient public policy in the environmental area, demand the recovery of environmental damages as well as to hold criminals responsible for environmental crimes.

Moreover, I was Secretary of State for the Environment of the State of Mato Grosso, Counselor in the National Environmental Council - CONAMA, President of the State Council for the Environment - CONSEMA - MT, President of the State Fisheries Council - CEPESCA - MT, and President of the State Council of Water Resources - CEHIDRO – MT. I am hopeful that my experience has been helpful in protecting the environment as well as contributing to the improvement in people’s quality of life.
