Center for Latin American Studies

The Latin American Library Collection

A main strength of Latin American Studies at UF is its Latin American Library Collection. It fields one of the oldest and largest collections in the U.S., including the largest collection internationally on the Caribbean. The collection contains 500,000 volumes, 51,000 reels of microfilm, 1,200 serial titles and 1,900 films. It covers all disciplines and geographical areas of Latin America, with particular emphasis on the Caribbean and Brazil.

The Center offers Library Travel Grants to enable faculty researchers from other U.S. colleges and universities to use the extensive resources of the UF Latin American Collection. These awards are funded by the Center’s Title VI National Resource Center grant from the U.S. Department of Education.
