Seminar by Dr. Roberto Lobo, former USP Rector & Director of CNPq

On January 25 the Florida-Brazil Institute will be hosting Dr. Roberto Lobo, who will be giving a presentation entitled “Higher Education in Brazil: Evolution and New Directions.” The presentation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in 376 Grinter Hall, with a discussion to follow.

After earning a Ph.D. in Physics from Purdue University, Dr. Lobo was a researcher and professor before moving into administration – he served as Rector of the University of São Paulo and Director of Brazil National Science Funding Agency (CNPq), among other notable leadership roles.  He then founded the Institute Lobo, which works with universities, national and international funding agencies, and industries on projects related to Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation.
