With its economy booming in recent years, Brazil has joined China, India and Russia as one of the leading emerging markets in the global economy. Today more than ever international companies are looking for business graduates who understand the Brazilian market and are familiar with the language and culture of Latin America’s largest country.
This four-week summer program combines Portuguese language training with a professional level business course on Brazil. During the first three weeks in Rio de Janeiro, students take business- oriented Portuguese language instruction at the Instituto Brasil-Estados Unidos (IBEU) in the mornings. Classes are offered at the beginning or intermediate levels. The afternoon portion of the Rio program, hosted by the School of Business at the Catholic University (PUC-Rio), consists of academic lectures and discussions in English on its campus, complemented by visits to prominent local companies. For the fourth week the program moves to São Paulo for visits to local companies and financial institutions.
